The Night Manhattan Locked Down - Battello Jersey City Wedding Photographer - Jen + Ryan - Married

An unforgettable day not just with how perfect everything was but also a shared moment in history.

On March 13 2020 a lot was still unknown about COVID-19. At the time, the CDC & WHO were encouraging everyone to NOT wear masks, there was no such thing as a COVID test and numbers of cases were still very small. Then the call came in.

It just so happened that Ryan & most of his groomsmen serve among NYCs finest and just before taking bridal party photos one of them got a message from his precinct. We were finishing up portraits with just Jen & Ryan at the time when across the way that groomsmen shouted, ‘They’re locking the city down!”.

Things definitely began to feel more real after that but we were all determined to stay positive and make this the best day possible before life as we know it changed completely & literally overnight.

The rest of the day was spectacular. The Battello JC did a fantastic job staying safe while creating a seamless experience for all of the guests & vendors. Jen, who designed every single detail herself (even down to Ryan’s shoes =P), blew everyone away with how amazing everything looked. There was even a surprise appearance by The Emerald Society Pipe Band as well as a reporter from a local NJ publication.

I could go on recounting basically every second of how amazing & fun the night was but this probably a great time to stop boring you with words and just let you see the images for yourself!
